|
|
Some friends of mine came across some Hazet V10 wrenches at WinterJam. I looked to see if they were 356 era & after viewing the 356 registry forum, believe they are not 356 wrenches. I also searched through the forums to no avail.
They paid $4 each per wrench. Can anyone help identify which car manufacturer these might belong to? VW?Porsche? Mercedes Benz?

TIA for your help in identifying them _________________ Call your Cunado's:

I have a nearly identical wrench stamped MERCEDES-BENZ, don't remember if it's Hazet or not. Unfortunately, I only have one very terrible picture of it:

The wrenches in my various original VW tool kits are marked V10.
You can look at the owner's manuals on this site to determine what years they are correct for. Different years included different sized wrenches. |
"V10" is the Hazet designation for that style of wrench. It is the budget black oxide coated wrench rather than the chrom vanadium premium wrench offered from Hazet. The V10 made it into a lot of different tool kits and is not VW specific.
The 8-12mm wrench is correct for Barndoor amongst others. |

Thanks Anchovy. So is $4 about correct for market value? If I see these at future swap meets A good buy would be x and y would be too much.
Thanks for your insight _________________ Call your Cunado's:

I keep a few in my junk yard tool box. When I find an old tool pouch at the salvage yard the V10's have a magnetic attraction to their brethren....you know what I mean, right! |

10-14 is for 25hp - 10mm for the carburetor and 14mm for the fuel lines.
8-12 is for 36hp - 8mm for the carburetor and 12mm for the fuel lines. |

I'm new to this forum and couldn't find where to look.
This week I found this wrenches which comes from my grandfather's tools (7 VW's) shared with my father (3 VW's) and some of my VW's.
Now I'm curious to know which glove box it comes from.
Please Can you help me ?
After the ultrasound bath and waxing with old machine tool grease.
Many Thanks in Advance. |

Thanks for the link and the quick response!
That's it for the date.
But the jack rod, spark plug wrench and pliers I used when I was a teenager. I also now remember a dirty blue-gray blanket.
Well, I have to go back to the Barn. |

if you look in one of the back pages of the original owners manuals it shows what tools were in that years kit ..........that 10 14 is the hardest to find , the others are common to find .
the later years like 1964/65 used a 8mm - 13mm |

I checked some Beetle owner's manuals on the site.
January, 1962 lists an 8/12mm wrench
August, 1962 lists an 8/13mm wrench
So it looks like that was changed for the 1963 models (August, 1962) |
So I think this wrench can only come from the 1300 Pigalle purchased in September/October 1965
Thank you all for your help. |

Found these on a local swap meet some years ago.
All NOS, but some rusty.
Payed 10 dollar for the whole bucket
