Why am I finding out this is about impossible. I have done it with an 86 syncro, but with the 82 I have tried twice unsuccessfully. Is there a trick I am missing. How much is a whole replacement core going for also. Thanks for any and all help in advance.

Because it about near is !
Plus the heater housing is stuck to the metal body with Unstickeum.
