It was posted yesterday on the southern MA/Northern RI Craigslist, don't have the link anymore.

getting it home would be a bare. NH temp plates arn't valid in MA, so i'd have to register it, and god knows if it'd make it back.

Im in Nashua, and i do have AAA. However, i contacted him and he says that none of the lights on it are working and he's not sure why. He's also firm on the price of $1000 and would rather part it out instead of lowering the price.

Sad.

$250 should not be a make or break for you if you want a somewhat nice van. AAA, if you have extended service, can put it up on a flat bed and tow it up to 200 miles.

Unfortunately, it sometimes does. It's not a matter of wanting it or going to get it. I'd get it if I could afford it. I just can't afford $1000 at this moment. $500 or $600 yes. $1000, no.

"He's also firm on the price of $1000 and would rather part it out instead of lowering the price. "

Sad news. If you can't go a grand and he won't budge on the price, then this purchase is not meant to be. Nearly as bad or even worse would be for him to come down to $500 for you and the purchase subsequently wind up being more hassle than it's worth (wife/SO problems, van never gets running or costs an arm and a leg, being ticketed on the way home, etc.). We've all been there.

That's the way i look at it. There will always be another van! Sad to part out something in such good condition however.

Terran,
To give you a little perspective from my side, I was searching for a nice Westy a few years ago. During a mountain bike ride in town doing the alleys (my favorite--LOTS of stuff to be seen in alleys) I found a Syncro hardtop with expired plates and in what appeared to be really decent shape. I memorized the location and considered leaving a note, but I wanted a Westy.

Found a Westy and my bride agreed that, although we did not need a third car (and fourth vehicle, all with off-street parking for only two) we could get it. I swear, not ONE MONTH later I spot an ad in a local advertising weekly for a Syncro for $700. Knew better than to approach the bride on this one. I never called on it but was certain that was the one I'd seen. Rode by shortly thereafter and it was gone. I still don't have a Syncro, but them's the breaks.

Hope it went to somebody good! That or he'll re-list it.
