Having issues with the stock brake lines (hard lines and rubber hoses) on the rear of my Beetle. Rubber started to disintegrate and I can't replace separately it because the coupling is rusted to the hard line.
A local racing shop said they can make a stainless steel braided hose for me. Got me thinking: why not make the entire brake line out of one piece, all the way from the T-link to the wheel cylinder:
Are there any downsides to replacing the stock hard lines and rubber hoses with SS braided hose, other than maybe costs? |

Yes, with that done, you have custom lines that are not easy to replace down the road. Just because the SS braid is there, does not mean that the hose inside will not eventually fail.... _________________ In Stereo, Where Available! |

I replaced all my brake lines with hard SS to SS flex lines . It's not that hard to do . I think a flex hose that long is going to expand and make the you have one weak brake. Your also going to have to clamp into place because it will try to straighten out every time you apply pressure. |

I did the same thing. The only hard lines I have is the main line to the rear t and a short line from the master to the line lock. Everything else is braided. |
