I know this must be a REALLY stupid question but in replacing the manifold I removed the plug wires from the distributor and did not mark them. I have the fire order at the spark plugs as its noted on the tin but now where can I find a diagram with which plug wire goes to each location on the distributor cap. Does someone have a diagram or let me know. Consider I am facing the engine (ie. rear left =1, etc). It would a huge help. Better yet a picture. I feel pretty dumb right now!

#1 cylinder is right side, front
#2 cylinder is right side, rear
#3 cylinder is left side, front
#4 cylinder is left side, rear
firing order is 1 4 3 2 clockwise.#1 plug wire should go closet to you on distributor cap.and go clockwise.take #4 next and so on.tried simple explination.but theres always some to explain it easier...take off dist.cap and turn motor crank(big pulley) till your top dead center.(TDC) crank till the rotor points little mark on dist..thats number one
hope it help Wink

All good advice; but I would add that it is advisable to find the terminal for #1 wire by the notch under the distributor cap, not its relative position; some engines (such as mine) have the distributor drive installed in such a way that the terminal for #1 is quite a few degrees off from the standard factory position.

THANKS everyone! I scratched my head for weeks before sucking it up and posting. Was hoping not to look like an idiot. The pics are valuable. Thanks for the advice on TDC. I will start with 1 then use the pics for the rest. Amazing how a forum can combine many heads to create a super brain Smile
