Its the equivalent to an Engle 100 and the 1st step up in a performance cam from stock. It would work well with your setup, I'm assuming you are running single springs on a near stock head.

Scat's own description is:
Hill Climber, 1600-1776cc low end torque for heavy buses/off road (1000-5000)

The first motor I ever rebuilt was a 1641, dual port heads, kadrons, 1 3/8'' header and a C25 cam. Good all around power, and gas mileage was good when your foot wasn't buried into it (hey, I was 19 Embarassed Laughing ). All in an otherwise stock '67; reliable and fun! You'll love it.

ported heads with stock rockers and stock springs..1 3/8 headers with single quiet pack

i just want some oomph, without sacrificing low end torque coz this would be a grocery getter...mileage would be ok? what do you think?

Mileage is more dependent on how you drive it. It'll be great, you'll love it compared to your stock motor.

If it's in a bug I'd personally go with the c35.

C25 is a great cam,and with 1.25 rockers you get 415 lift. It's also very close to the CB cheater cam.

You're worrying too much. Small displacement, mild cam and small dual carbs; it's a great, trouble free combo. As I said before,

YOU'LL LOVE IT!

My 1835 with stock heads and 40 dellortos has one. I put 1.4 rockers on it and it seems to work well. I only rev it to 5000-5500 because it has a stock crank in it. Good power up to there.
