The 1938 prototype, for obvious reasons.

No,
it is not becaus most of the car is from a later beetle.
I think the most valuable is the kdf convertible - this car is about 80 % orginal and it once belonged to A.H. who not ever had a driving licence

most valuable would be the kdf cars, but they are only valued by a small group of people. the most valued by the majority of the VW public would be a heb. the "rarest" is ridiculous because there are several cars which only one is known to exist, so each of them could be considered the rarest (unless "no known examples" is even rarer, in which case the rarest beetle is one that is not known to exist) _________________ .

The Bauer convertible beetle made in about 1952.
One made, then they gave up on the idea. Owned by someone in Berlin...... _________________ If I am not out on the Indian, or in the garage, I'm back in Afghanistan.

What about Snorkelstang? It's a mythological creature and truly one of a kind. _________________ Glenn

KdF Beetles for sure in my book.
They may be treasured by a small group, but I'm sure that group will grow over time. _________________ Feb 1944 KdF Type 82e.
