I have an exhaust and/or compression leak on the cylinder head my '82 air cooled and although I need to do some more t/s'ing I need to find a good vendor for cylinder heads and maybe a longblock. I may also look into a good used cylinder head but that is usually iffy. So any suggestions? p.s. I spent a while searching the forum already.

There is a noticable pfffttt on the left front cylinder when running, goes away when I disconnect the plug wire, I checked the outside of the cylinder head as best I could for leakage but do not feel anything, I know I need to do a compression and leakdown test. This is an unknown engine to me that is other than running rough with this pfffttt I have not driven it (yet).
