now a lot of guys absolutely despise this method for some odd reason, but I tried it and got fantastic results. I'm not quite done yet, the color will be mixed to look more like L87. I'm also waiting on my soft top sunroof (ragtop) to arrive so I can start on the roof.

I just instaled a new rear apron a little while ago which is why that hasn't been painted yet.

I've had the car since I was 12 and I'm now 16, its been a long road. Its got a rebuilt 1600, new brakes, and a few other mechanical things. I'm closing in on the 5th year of this restoration, but it was worth every second. Smile

rusto? as in "Rust-Oleum" right?

I think im going to do the same thing.

Paint job cost in total about 40 bucks by doing so. I researched other ways and the cheapest proper way cost about 165.

I'm thinking of going a flat olive green Cool

I've acctualy seen quite a few good flat paint jobs done with Rustoleum. A great place to get advice is here

http://board.moparts.org/ubbthreads/showflat.php?C...9&vc=1

I never would have gotten as good results as I did if I didn't join that site Smile

Well 72Kyle has not told us what he is using.
So I don't understand how I can be wrong.

Ok, 72 Kyle, what type of paint and primer are you using?

the paint and the primer are both rustoleum, and applied with a paint roller.

I've painted a few. They turned out nice. They aren't VW's so I can't post pics here. Would you like me to mail you some pics? You could tape them to your bedroom ceiling. I sold the chop-top car for more than I paid for it.
