Hi,
i like the look of the BRM rims. I am looking at a used set of 15X5. I know there is a cap issue and that i will need the extended caps. Will they fit size-wise with no modification? I have a 64 stock height and stock suspension 21 window.
Thanks for the help!

i run 1997 issue 5X15 flat 4 brms on my 65 panel camper using 195/65/tires. pyroman makes spacers to clear rear nuts for both flat 4 and the british brms that the hubcaps fit into. no more dragging your nuts through the grass, dirt, weeds and etc.

True that! The BRMs are made only with bug offset and place the tires a bit outside on the buses. This will impose a limit on the size of tire you can fit without having clearance issues against the fenders. As for the caps issue, I happen to have a fresh set of spacers ready to ship right now. If interested just hit me with a pm about it. Cool

True to all of the above. My Flat4 BRMs have an odd offset, which places the wheel probably 1/2" outboard of stock rims. You will have to keep your tire size fairly narrow... I put 205/70/15s on mine, and wish I had gone with something more like a 195/75/15. You can't fit a dime between the wheelwell and the sidewall! Never rubs, though... even offroad with the suspension fully tweaked, one wheel off the ground. You will need something special for the rear hubcaps, like PyroMan says. I made my own on a lathe out of billet aluminum, with a recess to fit the "Speedwell" cap into.

Sweet looking Deluxe there! IMHO, you should have a full set of spacers rather than just on the back. Gives an eveness look to it. Cool

13 windows did not come with sun roofs unless it was a special order (super rare). and his 13 window looks like someone put it in afterwards.

The Sunbrella canvas "sunroof" was actually a stop-gap fix so that I could drive the bus without being blown away, made by myself with the help of a buddy with an industrial sewing machine. When I bought this bus, it was a bare shell that was about to be cut up. The P.O. is a friend of mine, and the bus had a huge hole cut in the top for a Dormobile conversion. I have a standard roof clip for it, but after the first time I took it camping and was able to sleep under the stars in the back of my bus, I don't think I'll be welding in a new roof clip anytime soon.

IMO $525 for a used set of (4) BRMs that are not 100% perfect is too much. You can buy new ones for $600 plus shipping.

Thanks for the heads up on the rims. i thought it was a bit high. I haven't yet made a decision on them. I don't have a stock 15" set so i may just look for some and run the bug rims i have until then. Know anyone with a set?
thanks.
