Is the task of fitting later rear brakes to a split as easy as on a late oval?
Which e-brake cables work the best. My early 51 split has the lever-dampers. Does it matter, or is it just to exchange left/right if cable is to short? Will the cable fit?

Is it better to stick to the split, which parts are then interchangable with later (and more easy to find) ovals? Or cheap and readily available...
I'd tried to read some posts and found out;
shoes - not
linings - yes?
cylinder - 2-bolt will fit?
drums - same as oval?
