|
|
My right rear boot is torn up and needs to be replaced.
Should I simply replace the boot, or do the whole kit?
Are the boots, and boot kits, the same for Bug, Thing, etc.? I found kits and boots at "Airhead" auto at a much better price than the price for the full boot kit at the Thing Shop. Any suggestions on the best place for the boot, or boot kit?
Thanks! |

Not all boots are the same. I've seen a number of the split in less than a year. I only use Lobro boots.
Thing boots are not the same as a Beetle. _________________ Glenn

| if your going through the trouble of removing the axle and taking it apart, at least do both on that axle. it is cost effective to do one prematurely |

I just spoke to my brother and he said that there are boot replacements that are split the length of the boot and clamps on. He said that it is far less work than pulling the axle, etc. Is that correct? If yes, where could I pick up this type of boot?
Thanks. |

Don't listen to your brother. A split boot is crap compared to a solid boot. It only takes 15-20 min to pull the axle off. _________________
