I believe mine were attached with an ample supply of an RTV like substance. I used a thin spackle tool to cut through it, and ran into 3 screws on the bottom which attach the trim to the sill. I then took a rubber mallet and gently hit it in a forward direction (toward the doors). Eventually, the trim came free. The trim has notches where the little screws go through. After you move the trim forward, the screws eventually have an opening where they can be freed.
Good luck.

Thanks xzener! I'll try it in the morning, or after I get home from date-night.

Earlier ones have pins that go through the sheet metal and have clips inside. These ones are cast pot metal.DO NOT pry on these. My 64 and 65 have the cast ones, don't know when they switched to stainless, which as I recall are screwed in place. My 72 parts car had this type.

I think, other than 72-74 aluminum ones they were all chromed steel. Like xzener said, they should slide off the small screws. I dont think I have seen cast ones.

The interior had what looked to be threaded nails in high tension areas... I suppose they could look like that if the pan head was covered in paint. But like Darrel said, mine are definitely screws, they can be tightened, thus giving the trim a tighter fit.
