Stupid question here. I usually set the float height with the needle and seat installed in the Berg gauge. I'm chasing my tail here trying to figure out an idle issue. I figured I'd check everything over. I checked my needle and it is 24.73 long. Should I be setting it to the needle or to the 24.2? I'm thinking the long needle will let too much fuel in. Trying to think backwards here but the fumes are getting to me.
I also noticed that the floats say 25.5. Is that maybe what that float is supposed to be set at. They are the newer plastic ones.

I would follow this set of instruction and see where it gets you...

Document states gauges are no longer available, but dimensions are there so you should be able to make your own set of tools...

The 25.5 on the float is it's weight in g. _________________

I have the measurements. I have seen with the needle and gasket used and have directions that say without gasket but it doesnt say to use the needle or not. I used my depth mic. I'll give it a try. |

Anyone know what the gas depth should be from the main jet stack hole? |

I measured the depth and it was way off, little more than 1/4 inch too low. I got it to 43mm down from the main jet stack hole. I found the measurement poking around. May explain my tuning issues. I will get one of the JayCee glass sight to check. The floats are shaped different and that may be why the Berg Tool wasn't getting me close. |

Have those tools. They dont work correctly. My floats are shaped different. There is also something going on in the needle seat area. Its taller than 25mm without a seal. I'd rather know where the gas is instead of the float. The float doesnt emulsify. |
