Hi everyone this is my first post here, my question is I bought a three car package which included a 66 hardtop, 65 sunroof and what I belive to be a 61 vert. The title matches the pan yet the PO said it was a 64. My question is are there any distingushing features to look out for that would tell me it is one or the other. Thanks for the help in advance. Very Happy

Have you checked the VIN here to see what year it was made? Does the body number match the pan number? It could be a '61 body on a '64 pan, and thus would be registered as a '64. What makes you think it's a '61? If it's all original, a few things to look for that would distinguish a '61 from a '64 are the tail lights (snowflakes on a '61, larger 62-67 style on a '64), front turn signals (thin peanut on a '61, larger on a '64 and mounted closer to the body) turn signal switch (6-wire on a '61, 3-wire on a '64), lack of a fuel gauge and fuel sending unit on a '61.

The VIN on the pan states it to be a 61 it has a replacement front and rear clip and the fenders are not og so that does'nt help Sad . It does have an accesory fuel gauge over the radio instead of to the right of the speedo and the reserve switch lever under the dash.

Unless a previous owner tried to retrofit a fuel reserve lever, it sounds like a 61. How many door hinge screw access holes are on the A pillar? If it's a 61 body, there should be two at the top and two at the bottom of each pillar. A 64 would have only one hole at the top and bottom. I doubt the A pillars have been replaced so that should be a good indicator. Also, if the heater channels are original to the body, the heater vents in the front should not have covers/sliders or any rails to accomodate covers if it's a 61.

It does not have the heater channel sliding covers and I think it has the two bolt holes at the top and bottom of the door hinges. Thanks for the help MANNAXMAN. Very Happy

You're new- read up in the forums and tech areas- then supply pics of your car: front of and under dash and of the trunk area.
