Hello guys,
i think erverone knows more stuff
The shifter here shown is the orginal one from the Berlin Rome car and it was casted. This is NO cheap aftermarket part.
These shifters were first used ob the 38 and W30 cars and eveb used untill early 1940. After this they had the pressed metell ones !

I wouldn't be surprised if it is the same type - the floorpan is original so the gear lever could well have been there the whole time.

*zombie thread warning*
Just curious if anyone had anymore information about these shifter bases?
Thought perhaps now the 39 number 6 has been restored some investigating may have happened.
I'll check my "first beetle" book tonight to confirm if it has one of these fitted or not
Edit
It appears to be cast alloy with a lovely coat of paint. I'm guessing as it sits higher the shifter stick itself would be different to suit.
Im curious if these are from a kubel of Schwimmer? _________________ Collector of all things Volkswagen, Hazet and Matra.
