Happy New Year to everyone in the greater Samba-sphere! As I sit here and think about what I’d like to accomplish this new year, I thought I’d share my 2018 “bus” resolutions.
1. Pull motor and replace rear main seal
2. Replace radio with an OG version and get a new spare tire
3. Drive the bus more!
What do you have on tap for your bus this year? _________________ 1975 Riviera 1.8L FI |

Finish up my engine.
Put the interior back in.

1&2 should take up a weekend, leaving you plenty of time for number 3.
get on it
I pulled my engine on Christmas Day after presents and am going to get to the bottom of why this build has given me so much grief in multiple incarnations. _________________ 88 Van WBX, A/T - 13 JSW TDI 6M/T - 2012 Touareg TDI Sport |

Oh Lord, these lists have done nothing but get longer this year.
On the '69:
a. Locate & fix brake master cylinder leak.
b. Paint replacement tailgate and replace the rusted out one.
c. Install the solid glass on the rear left side to replace the rusted out vent wing.
d. Full tune/oil change/lube.
e. Get it to Gary/Aeromech's and have him check out the pilot bearing or throwout bearing or find whatever is clattering when the clutch is depressed.
f. Sell it (or the '67)?? I'm getting too old for this stuff.
On the '67 Single Cab:
a. Install trans mind mount.
b. Get it to a body shop for some frame adjusting.
c. Reseal the doors and windows.
d. Paint? Unlikely.
e. Get it to Gary/Aeromech's and have him check out the pilot bearing or throwout bearing or find whatever is clattering when the clutch is depressed. (Deja Vu all over again.)
f. Sell it (or the '69)?? I'm getting too old for this stuff. _________________ Larry in OB
