I just finished rebuilding my Carbs (Weber 40 IDF) with the Roicy (SP) rebuild kit. Everything was replaced and I even installed the Jet Doctors. I'm running 55 on my idles and I cannot for the life of me remember my mains (but I don't think my mains or emulsion tubes are the issue) also the accelerator pump jet was replaced, everything was undone and blown out (compressed air). New fuel filter, Bosh blue can, new electronic ignition (compufire). The linkage and syncs (both carbs registering 5's) have been done and they are both functioning perfectly. I'm running a SVDA from AC.net.
I let the Bus warm up and made sure the mixture screws where dead on and best I could hear (unfortunately I do not have A/F meter).
Ok so here is my issue. The bus runs like a rocket ship once on the mains (freeway driving), but leaving a stop sign or bringing it up to speed it gets "sputter'ie". Its like I have to force the fuel down its throat and then it smooths out and down the road I go.
One thing to note here... The symptoms are worse after it has been sitting for a while (cold). Once I warm it up (driving for 40mns) the sputtering goes away - but not fully, its still a little shaky above 3000RPM. In other words its just not a smoooooooth transition. I was thinking of reaming a set of idles from 55 to 57. Thinking 58's might be to much.
What questions do you have because I know I probably left out a few details.
This is kinda frustrating because the bus runs better then when i finished the build. But its the devil in the details that can sink even a nuclear sub.
Thanks for any help offered. _________________ Celer, Silens, Letalis
