I just put a Grant GT 13 1/2 inch steering wheel on my 65 and have a slight problem..........the turn signal lever is very close to and nearly touches the wheel. I can't turn without turning on the signal so I need to move it out of the way. Has anyone successfully straightened the lever? I know it's probably pot metal but do you think it could be heated and bent straight or would any other year lever fit my 65? Thanks

Clyde

You will not be able to straighten the t/sig arm, it will break. Dont ask how I know Rolling Eyes
You need the extension kit to move the wheel out more to clear

Or just 'chop' off the length needed so the stalk doesn't hit you hands when driving.

I did this in my old bug - made the turn signal arm a 'stubby'.
