Does anyone know where I can purchase the 12 point tool that is needed to replace the lower ball joints on a Eurovan. Is it a 10mm or a 12mm?

You might like to try Go Westy, I believe they sell them.

You mean a Torx?
Sears has them. Just buy the whole set. They'll come in handy.

I don't know about lower ball joints, but I had to get an 8mm 12 point tool (AKA triple square, AKA serrated, AKA XZN, but definitely not Torx) to remove my CV Joint bolts. I got mine at NAPA, but I understand that Autozone has a set of them for a reasonable price. Sears online carries some too, but apparently not in stores. The Vanagon-specific vendors could probably get you the appropriate tool if you call them, too.

Word of warning: I did some searching while looking for one myself, and heard that the Autozone set might not hold up to really high-torque applications. Some people had fine luck with them, though. The most-repeated tip was to clean the bolt thoroughly and tap the head in with a hammer before applying torque to prevent stripping.
