I bet you're talking about a Tamiya Sand Scorcher. Very detailed R/C car from the early 80's.
Don't recall a thread about it though. Search turns up nothing.
Let me know if you find it. |

I had one years ago, it got stolen! I'm still PISSED! It was a cool R/C, nothing like todays R/Cs but it was still fun. The front beam was almost identical to a L/P beam. I've heard they are going to re-release it. If the do I'll add one to my collection. _________________ I suffer from a serious disorder : Volkswagenitis |

It's already available, along with the buggy version. _________________ http://www.wix.com/baja5s/nightrun |

As cool as they are, they are a bit pricey for what you get compared to the newer stuff though. _________________ http://www.wix.com/baja5s/nightrun |

Yes, we know. It's about the nostalgia. Also, we're not known for being entirely logical and reasonable around here. |

I agree that they are way cool, I just thought the price was a bit high. Seems like you could find a vintage one for what they want new. Although, electronics have come a long way, so the new ones are probably a lot more reliable. _________________ http://www.wix.com/baja5s/nightrun |

I looked around for the sand schorcher a few years ago, before it was available in its remake version. Prices for the OG one were around $1000.
so i stopped looking... I remember building that thing on the kitchen table as a kid...memories |
