Sold my -55 Oval window beetle in january, and didn't have any plans to buy another aircooled VW for a while...
But it didn't last long!! Wink
Have just bought me a -69 Squareback!
The first I have to do is to get it up and running, and get some licenseplates on it!!
Then I have to get it a lot closer to the tarmac, and get some nice wheels!!
Not sure if I will go for some 15" or 17" wheels...!?!?
Here is one bad picture from the day I bought it!!

Please, replace all fuel lines, brake lines and check for frayed wires, before you do another thing! I like the stock stance, but that's just me. You have a sweet ride, the only thing I see wrong is where it is parked, not in my driveway. Peace

Beautiful! Granadarot, no doubt. Is it a US spec car? I see high back seats.

I vote for keeping it stock.

Thanks for all the nice feedback!! Very Happy
This car is a Eurospec-car since i live in Norway!!
So its got carburators, and manual gear!
Aint sure what colour it got... But it may be Grandarot!
Body will be stock, but It will be Lowered and get some other wheels!! Cool
The paint does look better in pictures than in real life! Need some polishing..
And for sure I will check and replace brake and fuel lines and brake parts too...
There are a little rust inside the fenders that need to be take care of too, but its not much!!
I think it is a good starting point...

More pictures, sorry for the bad cellphone-quality Confused More will come later

After the teardown, sorry for the bad Cellphone pictures...

Found some rust, but not anything that i didnt now of!! And I think the car looks good under the fenders to be a car from -69!! The climate in Norway can be rough on cars with the harsh winters with much snow!!
After my friend has done the welding, then its time to fix the brakes and other thing that is needed!! So it will be in a good running condition!!

Its getting closer for when the squareback can be out rolling on its own wheels again!!
The first fender is back on the car, so I had to test how a wheel fits, after the lowering...!! Its 3 notches, the wheels are 8-spoke with 175/55-15

Yes, its 2 notches rear...!! I'm a little worried how low it is going to be...
I think there will be some rubing issues... But Just have to see when I get it back on wheels...

Today it has been Touchdown.... Cool

It is a little too tight with 205/60-15 in the rear fenders... But will change to 185/65-15 or 195/60-15

Trade the used 205's for some Used 195's Before you cut up the sidewalls/fenders trying to drive it!

Change the rear tires to 185/65-15!! Fits better...
And I had the first testdrive after I have lowered it!!
The Empi 8-spokes are wheels that I have just borrowed from a friend!!
But I think they looked good... Cool
