I have a Tiico conversion and just fixed a quitting problem due to a bad connection on the alternator B+ that was making the fuel pump quit at the most inopportune times. I had the fuse block out of its little hanger and when I put it back and turned the key on , the headlights come alive. Their switch is off. Low beams only come on. When I pull either fuse 21 or22 the left headlight goes out but not the right. I thought that it was a ground problem but I pulled the double ground from the ground wheel (term) next to the fuse block and the lights go out. I cleaned it and put it back on but the results are the same. As long as the key is off, no headlights. Headlight switch switches all the lights on as normal. It's just the headlights that light with the switch off. Any ideas people? |

what controls power to the headlights? you have a relay and a rocker switch. Initially, a visual inspection is the first step. look for bare wires, corrosion. maybe switch out the relay and rocker switch.
grounds are good you say...good.
did you by chance remove the tail lites when you corrected the tiico fuel problem? you could have a bad ignition electrical switch or the tail lamps
switched.
seems like the rocker switch sounds bad.

Disconnect the negative cable from the battery and pull the fuse block back out and see what came loose or got bent. The wire taking power from the fuse and going to the right low beam must be making contact with one of the circuits coming off the ignition switch. |
