Hi all.
Searching, but can't find the pic I need. Thought I'd seen it here but....
I finally got my WBX installed into my '81 Westy. All gears work, new bushings, all is lubed, shift lever plate has both alignment holes showing, but.... shifter feels like it's dragging. I suspect the front bushing is too high (pic below) or at very least some kind of alignment issue between front and rear bushing.
The WBX tranny is untouched, and uses the stock WBX front bracket and mount (though flipped etc.)
Mark Drillock commented that it's possible rear shift rod could rub on frame. I'll have to double check that.
Anyone got a pic showing stock location of WBX front shift rod bushing or pass a comment if pic shows it too high? Or better yet, a measurement of some kind?
Bushing installed in '81 (was air cooled). Only one hole drilled @ 8:00. Hole at 2:00 stock:
rear rod
