Had pan sand blasted and I painted two coats POR15 black and 1 coat POR15 chassis black, and used POR15 silver on some stuff. Bought Airkewld 4 value air ride, and as soon as the tranny comes back from being rebuilt I will install rear wheels and install the rest of the air ride and play will it a bit
I have a bunch of pics before the pan was blasted and some sheet metal repair, but the camera I was using creates to large of files. Is there a way to make the picture file size smaller so I can post?

Finally welded in new apron, center section, and my own fabed right section of the engine compartment. About another day of welding in a head light bucket and some other misc stuff, and a couple days of grinding all my welds. After all that is done its off to the blaster and then to my good friend Mike (step above auto body in Salem, OR) to put it in sealer.

Looks good! Since you are fabbing some suspension parts, are you staying with a swing axle or going IRS? Also, have you decided where the compressor is going yet? Just curious.

Yep sticking with the swing axle. Just got it rebuilt from German Trans in Bend, OR via wagonworks in Salem, OR. I am thinking of putting the compressor in the engine compartment on the left side. If I could just get through all of this rust repair, and welding I want to have the body in epoxy in a month at the latest. We'll see... |

Nice work! I'm loving that chassis.
Not wanting to sound dumb, but what's this pipe and where does it come out at the other end?
I just got done cutting back this far and that pipe just isn't there on mine.

The pipe routes the wiring harness through the heater channel. I think the rope is probably to aid in reinstalling it after paint. |
