I have a pair of Odd very short front shocks What are they? Don't find any VW marking or any other name .

There is no pleated rubber on the top shield at all.

Length closed : 17 mm end to end to outside of round mounting points.

Length open end to end : 22 mm

They are off green on the surface, middle layer on one is dark green and the bottom layer is black. The other has the off green on the surface and black below (no dark green)

They have an outside metal top sheath with the following numbers on them

# 1)has :(the dots are not there just for keeping the layout)

........................5.....60
....................... 22-50

#2) :

......................05.....60
........................22-50

I will post pix as soon as I can remember how. Both need rebuilding

Any info would help

Do they look like this?

If so they are pre 1949 front shocks and can be rebuilt if they are not rusted inside. Do not waste your time looking for replacements at your local auto parts store or online other than Samba.

No, my shocks have a longer top sheath and different set up in general. Having probs with my software and can't get the pix down to size. Will try to get it fixed today.

Thanks for the pix and info
Eric
