|
|
Hello all,
I recently picked up this nifty tin model from a dealer-friend.
My best guess puts it somewhere around the late '50s.
Can any of you perhaps ID it, please?
The only marking that I can find, says 'Made in Japan'.
Thanks. _________________ the3rdrock.com - …musings, discoveries and postulating, by a restless itinerant in search of enlightenment.

A few years ago,
I found one of these ENDOH VW BUS V2 in worse condition than yours is in.
I sent it through my Restor-Version Shop

Wow! That looks terrific!
I'm not sure who could do something in my part of the world, but there must be someone. A future project... _________________ the3rdrock.com - …musings, discoveries and postulating, by a restless itinerant in search of enlightenment.

Dean is a lucky guy.
As for Merlin's bus, the distressed look is becoming more and more popular, and this one has a nice even patina look. I know some collectors who are more interested in having one in original paint that displays its age than having one that looks fresh, sort of like the full-size bus collectors. _________________ We are striving for perfection, to make our cars run forever, if possible.

Hi Blue Baron,
As nice as Dean's bus is, I'm inclined to stick with the patina look. I value originality & age over bright & shiny. _________________ the3rdrock.com - …musings, discoveries and postulating, by a restless itinerant in search of enlightenment.

Plus the marking on the baseplate adds character.
I would press that right front hubcap back in place though, so you don't lose it. _________________ We are striving for perfection, to make our cars run forever, if possible.
