hey everyone. im installing h beam rods but im unsure whether the casting numbers go on top or the bottom,which would replace the mark on the original rods? thanks for the help!

Put them whichever way makes more sense to you.
All the h-beams I know of are symetrical so it does not really matter.

They are symmetrical and it does not matter which direction you install H-Beam rods.
