People have told me I need larger jets in the 28-pict-2 i am running on my 1600. It has not been a problem until recently. recently I pulled out the 009 and put the stock dizzy in, retuned the engine which included turning int the volume control screw quite a bit. It had been running well for me last week, but now that I think of it there was some slight hesitations in 4th gear at 50+mph. The bus cut out on me friday... over the weekend I pulled carb and the needle was sticking again, some sediment in the bowl as well, cleaned all and put back together, fuel filter also dirty, replaced that, replaced all of the fuel line as well. I let gas come out of the tank while I adjust the fuel reserve tap. and it is flowing nicely from the tank.

Put everything back together. I did notice that the fuel is not just flowing into the filter on its own, the engine has to be cranking to get the flow. Is that normal, usually when i hook everythign up and take off the clamps (on other cars, lawnmowers, etc) the fuel filter fills up with gas.

The bus started after awhile of cranking. I took it out of the driveway and it died out in 3rd right away. started it back up and it was smooth sailing for 4 more miles and I parked it.

Today, same thing, died in third right away. took longer to get it going again but I did (After pushing it some). Then it cut out on the highway at about 50 mph going up a slight hill. Started back up no problem.

Could this be a jet issue? It is not getting enough fuel when choked in the morning or at high speeds? Is there a chart that can tell me what jets to use? Should I just forget about this carb and get a different one?
