Can anybody provide me with the dimensions of the holes of the rear engine mounts. Fot an early bay ('69)
So simple put. What are the sizes and offsett of the 3 holes I need to let my machine shop drill. Preferably in MM and not in inches.
Thanks. |

I don't know offhand, but I work on a friends early bus occasionally and I could check the next time I see her. _________________ 78 Riviera

If you buy these first the shop should be able to figure it out: http://www.airkewld.com/ARP-Mustache-Bar-Motor-Mount-Fastener-Kit-p/2922.htm
But the top 2 holes are 10mm and the bottom hole is 8mm from the factory but I have all 10mm in mine! The Ratwell site says they are this size if I have the right link!
#1 is M10X1.5 x70 stud the hole is 22mm deep 8.5mm drill bit or 21/64" worked
#2 is M8X1.25 x55 stud the hole is 28mm deep 6.8mm drill bit or 17/64" worked
#3 is M10X1.5 x70 stud the hole is 28mm deep 8.5mm drill bit or 21/64"
Sounds like the bottom hole is the #2 hole.
I don't know why they could not use the Mustache bar itself as a template! _________________ 1960 Beetle And 1679cc DP W-100 & Dual Zeniths! |
