I've owned 2 other splits in the past however I am still not an expert on them like many of you here on the samba. Does that vin for sure tell that it is real zwitter split and not an oval with now a split section. Seems to be a mostly all original car. Thanks again _________________ Instagram @graysvws

Yes, you're right, the number listed is the last not the first of the month's production. I guess it was late when I looked at it last night. Either way, that number would make it a zwitter, since oval production didn't start until March '53. _________________ I will never lie, but sometimes the truth changes.

not until it's mine haha. Decisions decisions. In order to buy I will need to sell me restored '63 ford falcon and be back to all vws in the stable. Worst part of car is that it came from New York(No rust though) but has no title. The zwitter was restored about five years ago to nice driver condition and is a good deal at the asking price I think. But the title issue really bothers me. Any suggestions? _________________ Instagram @graysvws

Depending on the applicable state laws the vehicle belongs to the person who holds the legal title, not neccassarily the person who is in possession of said vehicle. I would ask the current "owner" to obtain a title or provide the neccessary paperwork to get one, this is of course depending on the state laws that apply. Model, year, condition, price, none of that matters without a title. Unless your parting it out of course. _________________ 63 15 window deluxe Turkis walk through 1500
