| Can anyone give me advise about replacing ball joints in a 77 std bug. All the books I have say to take the arms to a shop and have them install em. Can they be pressed out with a gear puller? Do new ones need to be pressed back in, or are there replacements that screw in? |

| take it to a shop and have someone do it. for what they will charge it is cheaper than the tools to do it, and the inevitable busted parts and fingers cost. I tired it myself once, and after three hours of whacking at a pickle fork, finally gave up and took it to a local shop which, as i recall, charged me about $60, and it took less than an hour. hope this helps. |
