Hi there:
I'm in the process of purchasing a 65 bug. It's in good shape. One accident up front that has been pulled out but it is straight, no rust, excellent mechanics. Good bumpers with no rust, no rust in headlight buckets, rockers, pan, minimal surface bubbles behind front fenders on quarter panel. Been repainted once a different color. Good interior/vinyl/headliner/uncut dash. The radio is vintage and looks original. It has a slide switch on it that says "voice" and "music." Is this an early AM/FM (voice/music)? It looks like a Saphire but I can't tell exactly. I think it has a fuse blown. Otherwise, everything else works and the motor is a rebuilt 1300 bored out to 1500 with only 5000 miles. They want $1500 but I'm going to offer $1300. Any advice/thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks. |

| Hi there, the car sounds like a good deal to me, even if the radio didn't work, it sounds to me that the car is in very reasonable condition. Be sure to place a magnet on the lower areas of the car to ensure that it hasn't been bodged up. If bondo was used excessively anywhere on the car the magnet will not stick to those areas. Be sure also, to check the vin on the body and the vin on the chassis is matching, so you don't have any problems registering your "new" car. Other than that, have fun with yer `65. CHEERS |
