I have a 62 Bug that I Acquired about a week ago. After sitting for many years it is already running again. It runs perfect. No oil leaks. I have all maint. records to 62. Everything is original. The rear bubper is a little bent up but otherwise I don't see any evidence of accidents. Now for the bad, RUST.
The heater channels and floor pan are rusty. I don't think they will be too bad to replace with parts from Wolfsberg West. The part that worries me is the section behind the rear seat where the pan meets the body and the heater hoses enter the car are pretty bad. I don't know whether it's worth having fixed or if I should find another similar year Bug and use the parts from this one. There aren't many old VW's here in Kentucky to choose from. So far I have almost nothing but time invested in this. Can anyone with some body work experience give me some advice?

If this car was ten years older it would be easily worth it. Floor pan replacement is easy. Heater channel some other sections are a real pain. Unless the rest of the car is really really nice, if I were you I would wait for a better candidate.
