I don't think you can make a '69 look cool.

Just for another viewpoint...I am finding that more people are starting to realize just how cool the '68 and later Beetles are, in stock form. After getting tired of looking at thousands of '67 and earlier Beetles (at VW shows), I bought a mint '68 Deluxe Beetle and it has it's own qualities...nice clean bumper (instead of the pre-'68 towel rack style), integral headrests for safety, padded dash, back-up lights in the taillight assembly, 12-volt electrics for all models, three-point seatbelts on all four seats, bullet-proof 1500 cc motor, Z-bar stabilizer, exterior fuel filler flap, etc.

I'm not saying that I don't still admire a nice early '60's Beetle, but at most shows they tend to dominate and it can get repetitive. I think your '69 is a great year for the Beetle!! My '68 is Savanna Beige, what color is your '69?

Purchase a book called How to keep your volkswagen alive for the complete idiot. Check out your yellow pages for local VW stores
Look in the back of VW mags at adds for resto parts. Search the web for VW parts and check out West Coast metric. Do some homework it all there.

OOpps sorry. I have a 1969 bug too. I also have a 1963 project and a project dune buggy. You might also join a local club.
