Can someone tell me what the year changes for seat frames were for lowback seats? I know what years the material/covering changed, but did the frames ever change? I need seats for my '62, and want to make sure I get the "correct" ones for that year. If they never changed, then I guess I can get any seats as I will probably end up recovering then anyway.

I think that the seat frames themselves were the same from 1958-1964. The material changed though. They were smooth vinyl. Go to www.wolfsburgwest.com , they have seat covers and they show the differences between the patterns and the material. |

The seat frames you are searching for are 1958-64, but 1956-57 will also work. The difference is about 10mm.
The easiest visual check would be the way the seatback adjusts. If it has a "hook-like" arm on the side, you DON'T want it. It should just feature a small eccentric knob on the outside.
As for '55 & earlier, you'll know due to price as the ones you want are around $10-$50/pr '55-earlier are priced at nearly $300/pr |
