so i bought this bus a little while ago and the po converted the engine to duel carbs from FI. i've had to pull the engine to do some repairs, so i figured i'd check the gas tank out while it was accessible. so i removed it, its looking pretty good, no rust, just alittle sediment on the bottom.
so my question is, does my gas tank still need to be vented for FI if its now carbed? can i just plug the venting holes?

YES, the venting is to allow air in as fuel is consumed while not allowing fumes to exaporate into an open atmosphere.

the FI aspect is only a fuel OUT to pump & RETURN to the tank fittings over the starter..

no. A tank needs vents or it would collapse as a vacuum built up in it.
