First off thanks to everyone here and all the help, the process was simple after getting some great advice from my buds at The Samba.
My steering column locking bolt was hitting column shaft cover because it had slipped down so it would not lock and I couldn't get the key out. Tapped the heads of the bolts with nail punch then drilled slow. Used an easy out with a pair of vice clamps to slowly unscrew the bolts.
I am so happy I have my original equipment and it is working perfectly. I wanted to share so maybe it will help someone else

| Last night I used my dremel and a cutter wheel to slice groves in the top of the mounting bolts so I can easily re-install. I will fill the slots with epoxy when complete so the security is not compromised. |
