74 Thing is 1 inch lower on front left than front right. What's up?  |

broken ball joint. Blown shock, front torsion leaves loose or worn or sprung You might have a suspension issue. after 35 years the front end needs to be rebuilt... |

I would definitely "lean" towards a broken torsion leaf.
Pun intended
Keep in mind, Thing front torsion packs are different than the Beetle's. They are a bit stiffer.
So... Beetle spring packs will lower the front about an inch.
Sway-A-Way still has a 15% stiffer kit that is (in my opinion) just a bit stiffer than the Thing only units. Sway A Way part number 6002.
