Hi!

I bought an automotive multimeter for my 1971 VW Beetle 1200. Unfortunately the instruction manual is in Chinese. Any advice on how to use it to check the rpm, and for the dwell angle?

Thank you!

If there is more than one hole for the red lead, plug the red lead into the one marked for RPM and Dwell. Then switch the selector to RPM or Dwell for 4 cylinders, and with the car running, hold the other end of the red lead on the negative post of the coil, while you are grounding the black lead.

Not sure on that unit but my tach/dwell meter has two leads black-ground. Green (probably red in your case) to coil #1 side(the side where green wire from condenser connects) . Not positive/ #15 side.
