|
|
For some reason, a few of the electrical items that are controlled by switches in my cluster or dash have somehow changed from being switched to non-switched. In other words, these items stay on after I turn the ignition off and remove the key.
Both front and rear heater fans
Rear defroster
Windshield wipers
There may be other items, but those are the one's I've noticed.
I'm surely open to to considering that somehow I've done this, but I can't think of how. My only electrical mods around the dash have been connecting the radio to the key-in-ignition circuit so it goes off with key removal. Other than that, I can't think of anything I've done that "re-routed" the original wiring.
I have done the headlight relay mod, but don't see how that would apply here. I have had the cluster off and back on many times, but always plugged things back where they were before, or so I though.
I know ultimately, I need to go out and trace the wiring to see where the fault lies, but I was hoping someone out there has experienced this before, or can offer some insight into where to look first.
Thanks!!! _________________ 1985 Westy, 1.9L automatic (Daisy)

Those items are all on the load controlled bus, aka X-bus. That'll tell you where to focus in the wiring diagram. _________________ Shop for unique and useful Vanagon accessories at the Vanistan shop:
