Had the trans overhauled 2000 miles ago @ 260K when the EJ25 went in. Worked really well until last week when I noticed it was reluctant to change from 2nd to 3rd. Sort of hung up, but would eventually go.
The shop that did the overhaul is not anywhere even near close so can't go back.
Does this sound like this should fall into the "simple adjustment" slot or should I prepare for something more drastic.....?

Is the symptom the same hot or cold? I don't believe you can adjust the problem out externally. You can only adjust the 2nd gear apply band externally and the transmission kick down, which is tied to the accelerator. Since this is a conversion, it might be worth verifying the accel cable is adjusted properly. _________________ ☮️ |

Ohh indeed trace the throttle cable and verify it ties in with the AT trans lever.
My brother's conversion rigged a "dual" throttle cable and there was an issue with the Trans side that didn't provide the necessary throttle feedback. and in essence made the AT slip like crazy and essentially stay in 2nd gear.. _________________

The problem arises after the transmission warms up; after 4-5 miles.

Run the 2nd gear brake band adjuster a half turn at a time till it shifts properly.
See what happens. _________________ T.K. |
