Well the subject gives you the down and dirty.
I bought a 74 Super thinking it was "stock". To my surprise, the rear apron has had the notches for the pee shooters filled in via welding and bondo.
The fenders seem wide in the rear to me but how could i tell that from stock?? they also have these T bars for bumpers.
Now I know the circular cut outs in fenders are correct for the collapsable bumpers from 74 forward. But my car just has vertical "slots" through which these T bars protrude.
With all this said. I don't care to go through the trouble of going back to stock.. but I would like bumpers.. How could I convert to a towel rack style bumper both front and rear? Cost isn't the issue but figuring out how to get from A to B is. Opinions? Advice?
Thanks,
~Dave. |

I'll be the first to say (and I'm not trying to be rude), you might want to look at pics first before you decide you want to do it. It looks very wrong on late model cars.
If you already have 73 and earlier style bumper mounts then you can buy "conversion bumper brackets." If not, then you'll have to weld in either the early bumper mounts and make them work or 68-73 bumper mounts and use the conversion brackets. _________________ 62 Rag - a little crusty |
