i have noticed many people notching plates like the one in the picture, i was curious about just grinding the part circled smooth, seems like it would do the same thing or am I missing something? i set my thing down two outer splines and it is constantly sitting on the piece circled. thanks

pic stole from the gallery (let me know and i can take it down)

The spring plate can easily be replaced if you want to go back to stock, while the bump stop is a big part of the torsion housing and much harder to replace.

If you are riding on the stop, you may want to consider new shocks (depending on condition), stiffer springs, or a bit more cut on the plate. Alternatively, a slight lift on the inner splines should get it off of the stop.

A picture of what you are working with may help.

Are the spring plates the same as a bug?

Anyone have any other pictures of notching the rear plates? I keep searching the gallery but the word Notch obviously brings up quite different results than I'm looking for Laughing
