|
|
I'm putting together the case for my 2.0 AC engine, it's been 20 years since I did this and I've slept once or twice since then.....
Right now, I have the left side of the case (half with the main bearing dowels) laid on it's side and the crank ass'y and cam ass'y are in position one to another with timing marks aligned. I neglected to put the distributor gear in that 12 degree position when doing so. However, it seems likely that the dizzy gear will turn slightly when installing the crank assembly anyway and the correct method is to remove the dizzy gear and reinstall it after the case is together and #1 is at TDC.
Yes, no, maybe?
Thanks |

| dizzy drive gear is first out/last in...otherwise you run the risk of buggering the gear while messing with the flywheel |

Sorry - one other question. The Bentley shows what looks like a bridge style puller with a bolt to remove the dizzy gear from the case. How does that work? I didn't recall a thread in the gear for the bolt but it's been a while since I looked.
thanks |

He was very, very helpful during my rebuild.
Still going with 10,000+ miles on it (drove it to work today) _________________ 1987 Westy Auto Bostig 2.0 Ztec |
