I have a 2000 vw beetle and the a/c doesnt work. It has freon in it and the cooling fans work but I have no power to the a/c compressor clutch. I've checked the fuses on top the battery for melting and corrosion but they look ok. I know the compressor is controlled by the cooling fan module but the fans work. Also i'm not sure if this is normal but the fans will run for 10 minutes after the car is shut off. Any help is greatly appreciated thanks!!!

Just because the fans work, doesn't mean the fan module is okay. It's mounted under the battery, so all sorts of havoc can occur in there. It could also be the pressure switch.
