I recently bought a set of pretty rare (to my surprise) ICMP wheels. They are 4 x 130, but they use shank style lug bolts. I was able to track down a set of gorilla 14x1.5 shank lugs, but they are just a bit too big for the holes in the wheels. There isn't much info on these wheels and they were made in Japan some time ago, so I don't know what to do.

do you have a GOOD wheel shop in your area? if so take one in and see if they can find something.

the holes may be drilled for 12x1.5 app. you can buy step down screw in studs where the threading where it screws into the drum is 14x1.5 and the actual stud is 12x1.5. a machine shop can open up the holes a bit to allow you to use the 14x1.5s you have found(yes i have done this more than once. in one case CAREFULLY with the proper drill bit myself). you may even get lucky and find a 14x1.5 that has a thinner wall to the shank...ken....

oh yeah 1999-2007 chevy/gmc trucks used 14x1.5 shanked lugs stock. maybe swing by a local parts place and see if a stock one of those fits...ken...

they no longer make a 14mm mag type nut with the small diameter. i have looked for almost 10 years, they dont exist. i had a set of lugs turned down but have never put them on the car because they are thin. you could always find a set of the old mag type lug bolts that are all 1 piece. they are the small diameter. i might even have a set or at least a few. or you can always change the stud diameter to 12mm and use a regular 12mm lug

Is the m12x1.5 lug have the correct diameter shank? The rusty lugs I got with the wheel have a shank diameter of approximately .685 inches, which is a perfect fit into my wheels.

And you said I could use 12mm studs, but wouldn't I need to use conversion studs - going from m12x1.5 on the lug end to m14x1.5 on the drum end?

14mm-12mm
http://www2.cip1.com/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=C13%2D9517
14mm-1/2"
http://www2.cip1.com/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=C13%2D9515

given that 1/2" are more common to find the lugs than the 12mm version i'd probably see if one of the 1/2" versions fits the hole of the wheel and if so go that way. 1/2" is between 12 and 13mm.

sucks as the set of Performance Industries i recently got has 12 mis-matched shanked lugs and a new set is in their future. the good news is i already have to take a drill to one lug hole as theres a broken mangled lug shank in there. between that and the heavy pitting i shoulda kept looking for a better set...ken....

I ordered a set of m12x1.5 shank lugs from Summit and a set of m12x1.5 to m14x1.5 conversion studs off of eBay. The shank diameter appears to be correct according to the specs from Summit, and the shank length appears to be perfect. We'll see when my parts get here if that is the case!

I heard a guy on here, don't remember who, suggest loctiteing a stud into a lug nut to make a set of mag lug bolts. You could turn the nut down and than do that, and not have to worry about the wall being too thin.
