Phone Dials came in 5x130 bolt pattern. Porsche never made any drums with that pattern for the front.

everyone converts to disc
you'll need disc spindles, I've only seen dropped ones for link pin. I could be wrong. everything else you will need is stock 67 and later ghia, except, buy Porsche 5 pattern rotors. all of this stuff is commonly available at your local vw shop. And the calipers/pads/bearings are available at a regular napa, o'rieley's, autozone, etc
or, convert over to 944 brakes with junkyard parts _________________ Stop dead photo links! Post your photos to The Samba Gallery! |

You need to define what you need.
What is your car?
What is your front suspension?
What brakes do you have? _________________

It only cost me $120 to have 4 hubs drilled at my local Machine Shop. _________________ 69 FI/AT square Daily Driver

ok people
I've never seen link pin drums with a porsche pattern. It doesn't work, where the lugs need to be, is not flat on those drums
You aren't going to get 5 lug link pin drums re-drilled. that's just dumb. look at the surface area where you would have to drill
I suppose, that you could find the right bearings to swap the front to stock ball joint drums (4-lug) on your link pin spindles, and have them re-drilled. But by that time, you need all new bearings that arent cheap, bearing races, new drums, and machining. And you still have small drum brakes.
Not much more to swap to disc spindles at that point.
This is why those ugly wide 5 fuch look alikes were popular. Cause it was a lot of work to swap over an early car to porsche 5 _________________ Stop dead photo links! Post your photos to The Samba Gallery! |

swapping to disc is the easiest answer. bolt on disc swaps are available for stock spindles. they increase the track width about as much as adapters and they aren't for use with dropped spindles so if you plan on drops later it's a waste of money at $380 for the kit with the 5x130 drilled rotors. esp when a dropped disc kit with studded 5x130 rotors is around $450 and they don't widen the track as much as the $380 set up.
so if your looking for a "for now" set up, adapters may be the best way out. i know lots of people flap gums about using adapters but i've used them with no problems. the only problem i've seen with adapters is them being over torqued out of sequence and cracking the ears at the lug. these are the same people who in doing the same stand the chance of warping rotors....ken... _________________ ITMC
