I am doing EVERYTHING I possibly can to make the 20th Bugfest the best show ever. I think that making the car show FREE for car and driver will help. I will also have 96.5 WKLH and Sports Radio AM 1250 broadcasting LIVE during the event. I don't know if any other event that is giving away a restored 1970 beetle with new engine, trans, disc brakes, $5000 paint job, etc, etc, etc. Plus, if you want to attend the Paul McCartney Show, this is your way to get tickets, register to win the car AND......(I am working on something even bigger but can't release the info until it's 100%)
We are having a painting contest on a BUS. We will be painting it white and people can add their own flair during the day. Prizes will be awarded at the end of the show.
PLEASE let me know if there are any other ideas out there for activities you would like to see.

Just finalized a deal to make Saturday July 13th as MDA Day at The Races. Bugfest will be a perfect event for any MDA families to come out to Great Lakes Dragaway for free, have a hospitality tent and show the kids a good time. I am guessing that the "Paint a Bus" will be a popular spot. If you know any families that could take advantage, please forward them this info. MDA will also be holding a 50/50 raffle to raise money for the cause.

NEW ANNOUNCEMENT!!!!
The winner of the car show in the beetle class will get to display his or her car at Miller Park before and during the Paul McCartney Concert(in addition to winning great tix for the show)
This will include some press on Onmilwaukee.com and other new outlets.

We have donated money to at least 5 VW shows in the immediate state area: Wisconsin, Illinois, Indiana, Michigan and Minnesota. In an effort to make it worth it for clubs to attend our show, I will be awarding the club with the highest attendance the most financial support for their show next year. The other clubs will still be supported but I want to thank the club with the most attendance. Only 11 days away!!!

The forcast is in and it's going to be 80 degrees and sunny for the next 5 days, which includes Bugfest!!!! We have been getting a HUGE response this year so we're getting prepared for our largest show in 20 years. See you there!!!

THANK YOU to everyone who attended our show on Sat!!! It was 80 degrees and sunny the whole day. We had over 175 show cars and over 30 swapers and vendors. Over 1000 people came in for the show during the day. The band was great, played for 4 hours in the sun(they had a small tent on stage but were pretty cooked by the end of the day) I think the "Paint a Bus" bus looked better after the artwork was added, hopefully the kids don't go home and paint their parents cars in the same way. Four people walked out with the "Top Beetle" awards, tickets to Paul McCartney and a chance to win the beetle tomorrow.
The only negative part of the entire day was trying to count out the votes for the car show awards. We will be designing a new system for next year. It took us an exceptionally long time to count because not everyone turned in their cards to tell us who they were. Each ballot was supposed to be filled out with the car and drivers information. Only about half were filled out properly. We eventually figured everything out, but by the end Paul and I couldn't even recite our our phone numbers.
AGAIN......THANK YOU TO ALL and please feel free to send us suggestions/questions/comments for next year. We won't be giving away another car but maybe an engine?
