I'm trying to get my beetle back on the road after sitting for most of the last 7 years. I took off the intake manifold after punching a hole though the preheat tube trying to clear it (uuugh). Noticed this notch/chip/casting flaw on the right intake port. It was there before removing the gasket. The engine never seemed to have an issue with a vacuum leak in the past so my instinct is to just put it back together.
Should I do anything before reassembling? Would adding some gasket sealant be useful? Fill with JB weld? I'd prefer to not tear this engine apart as it ran well and I have a very limited budget for my "fun" car.

I would not think twice about a tiny careful application of JB weld right there. After it sets up, use a new razor blade to scrape it and surface it flat.
